Dedicated to my dear friend, mentor, and exceptional trumpeter Dave Kobberdahl, “Kobberdahlogy” is an up-tempo ride through rhythm changes as well as modal harmonies over a second-line feel. The trumpet dexterously navigates through the bebop-tinged melody before taking as many choruses of straight rhythm changes as they wish. Given Dave's generous spirit, solo space is provided for a trombonist and the bartione saxophonist before the trumpeter soars over the saxophone section in a burning soli before playing the melody to the end of the chart. Challenging and engaging, a sure-fire crowd favorite.
