Written for Max Wellman and my big band, this piece features your vocalist’s ability to stylize a melody as well as your ensemble’s ability to provide a lush supporting texture for the singer to glide over. Your gentlest trumpet soloist takes the top of the second chorus as the ensemble launches the vocalist home in the bridge.
