Dedicated to Noce Jazz & Cabaret in Des Moines, “Walnut Street Blues” is my love song to the jazz scene of Iowa. Taking inspiration from a composition of Chicago tenorist Von Freeman and combining it with the Kansas City style of the Basie Band, “Walnut Street Blues” is both satisfying musically and accessible for young bands. Features piano and tenor, and has space for a soloist on any instrument.
