“Lookin’ Forward” is a carefree romp that will have your band and your audience tapping their toes and dancing in their seats! With a distinct hip hop feel, bebop-influenced melody, and a chord progression that is incredibly fun to improvise over, “Lookin’ Forward” showcases the evolution of jazz history as well as your band’s solo and ensemble skills. This arrangement contains a canonic unison soli section that moves throughout the entire ensemble. This piece was selected for performance at the Young Composers Showcase during the Tenth Annual JEN Conference, and was performed by the US Army Jazz Ambassadors on January 12, 2019.
